A JAMES LYNG HIGH SCHOOL MIXTAPE
Situated atop a derelict malting factory, St. Henri's pink house is less than a five-minute walk from our school. First painted bright pink and green in 2019 by an anonymous artist, this iconic little house embodies our city's nonconforming spirit by embracing the messiness of its surroundings and turning it into something beautiful.

This year's crop of songs is about love, summer, and yes, messes. They were written, performed, and recorded by James Lyng High School students in their music classes during the 2025-2026 school year. James Lyng High School's music program is a nontraditional, student-centered program ​that draws inspiration from Hip Hop, Rock, and RnB, as well as whatever our students are into.

"Alien" was written and performed by Jaylah, with Logan and Mr Xavier. "Measuring Time" was written and performed by Téarrah, Ivan, Josh, Gab and Mr Gage. "Skin Like Water" was written by Logan and Quinn, and performed with Dean and Mr Barton. "Don't You Cry" was written and performed by Daren, who sang, played Piano, Bass and Drums. "Piece of Mind" was written and performed by Charly, Kevia, Destiny, Kamea and Mr Gage.  "Rollin' Up" was written and performed by Kyron, Malika and Gabriella. "First World Problems" was written and performed by Zeriah, Zeniah, Saya, Marcus, MayLynn and Mr Gage. "Wasted Love" was written and performed by Dean, Jahvon, Ethan, Gabriella, Malik and Mr Gage. "Comprise" was written, sung and produced by Pheonyx. "Nothing is Given" was written by Mr Alex and produced by Givens. "Nafufu" was written and performed by Kamali, Akim, Baahir, Zuhair and Mr Gage. "Too Cold" was written by Jaylah and performed by Jaylah, Givens, Daren, Nico and Mr Gage. "The Lonesome Ranger" was written by Ethan and performed by Ethan, Mr Eves and Gab. "Boardwalk" was written and performed by Zayah, Rocklyn, Emiliah, Horacio, Kayden, Kai, Edna and Mr Gage. All songs were recorded by the students, Mr Gage and Xavier Arocha, and were mixed and mastered by Xavier Arocha. tHE cOVER aRTWORK WAS DRAWN BY kISTIN.
